List of Cover Artist: A Little Free Research for You!

Ok. So sometimes I'm going to just do a little research for you so that it saves you the time.  I've been scouring the web and asking for recommendations on Cover Artist.  People still DO judge books and ebooks by the cover.  They will argue just how much a cover influences a buying decision, but most readers still admit that it does influence it somewhat.

I will more than likely continue to edit this post as I find additions. Hopefully, this will help you connect with some great talent to help you package your works of art in a manner that will attract lots of sales.

Flash Mob for Book Promotion...Interesting Marketing Concept

Hi everyone. I wanted to share a really neat idea with all of you. If you're published it could be a great way to help get the word out about your book in an interesting way.

Check out https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Amrita-Publishing/184725818262525?sk=app_129982580378550  Amrita Publishing... They describe their concept as a FLASH MOB for book promotion where other authors swoop in and help promote a featured author, then in return eventually, everyone gets a turn.  Neat concept! Their first Featured Artist is today and this all happens at 3 pm est.

Please Visit the Amrita Publishing FB page, and their Featured Artist page today around that time and help spread the love for Daniel L Carter. Coincidentally, Daniel was one of the first Authors who featured an interview with me on his blog when my book ISLAND OF SECRETS came out last November.  He definitely helps other authors and he deserves some extra attention.

Friday Freebies for All My Writer Friends!

For years I've used Travel Guides as a source of research.  It's a great snapshot of a state, usually gives you a list of historical sites and a little about each and often includes a driving map.  I've found a site that offers lots of these State Tourism/Travel Guides for FREE. I have a file that I keep all of these in for Future reference.

Evan Marshall's Fiction Makeover- Previous Freebie

Ok, I told you that I would report back when I had a chance to open up the download and take a peak. Wow! I'm a fan of Evan Marshall's advice anyway, but this is going to be a real treat for all of us.  Be sure to report back what you think.  Like I said, I'm just getting started and as busy as I am right now, it may take me a while to finish it.

Do you do Author Chats?

Hi!
Maybe I can shed some light by sharing my experience with author chats. I've done one but attended several put on by a popular website. They usually select 3 or 4 authors to feature and each author gets around 10-15 minutes to share about their books. The one I did was very well attended by readers and I sold several books from the endeavor.

A note of warning, you must be prepared. I would suggest that you attend several before being featured. This will allow you to get a feel for the pace with which they move. It will also allow you to become familiar with they type of likely questions the readers may ask you so that you can already have answers ready. I already had a short blurb and a couple of short excerpts copy and pasted into my little sticky notes program so I could paste them into the chat quickly. I was able to take full advantage. I have watched authors melt down because they could do nothing but answer questions and they never got to tell about their book. You want to leave the readers wanting more of your book. When you post your blurb and excerpt they are still going to have questions but you are better in control of the information they leave the chat with. Hope this helps some of you.

Book Promotion Ain’t For Sissies

Book Promotion Ain’t For Sissies
 By Jenna Glatzer

My first blog post. I can't believe that I have finally made the jump into blogging.  Actually, I can't believe it took me this long.  FREEBIES FOR WRITERS started out many years ago as a newsletter distributed through Yahoo Groups.  It was very well received and I had tons of subscribers that held on each and every newsletter, but as with most things, life happened and eventually the newsletters became more and more less frequent.

Since my first novel was published electronically back in November of 2010 I've become more and more aware of the importance and popularity of blogs as an information vehicle.  I have been amazed at how many moms, dads and even kids are blogging about anything you could imagine.

This blog is for fun. A way that I as an author can share with other writers fun and interesting tools that I find along my internet searches.

I also have a CD Library Compilation of Life in the 1800's (this compilation includes actual etexts of books and resources from that time period. If anyone is interested in more information on this simply comment.

I love to dig and now I can share all of my wonderful discoveries with you my new blog readers and friends...

Now, on to my first find....
Book Promotion Ain’t For Sissies By Jenna Glatzer

I haven't had a chance to read the whole thing, but it looks very interesting and for FREE even 1 good marketing idea is like gold.  This ebook is 62 pages

I hope you enjoy this first installment and will check back often for more...
Keep Writing,
Tammie Clarke Gibbs
